Richard brings more than 30 years of experience to the firm’s clients. Businesses and individuals benefit from Richard’s depth of knowledge in commercial and credit law and business litigation. He represents financial institutions, manufacturers and trade suppliers in matters involving negotiation and drafting of business contracts, contract enforcement lawsuits, debt recovery, bankruptcy, antitrust compliance, contract terminations, appeals and e-commerce and technology issues. Richard also has experience preparing personal and business fiduciary selection documents, including comprehensive powers of attorney. He earned an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
Education:
Richard holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was a member of the Harvard Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Law Review. He earned a B.A from Pomona College. He is a graduate of the Elder Law College. Richard is admitted to practice in California and Colorado.
Prior Experience:
Richard has worn many hats throughout his extensive legal career. Prior to entering private practice, he served as a prosecutor in the Criminal Division of the Los Angeles City Attorney. Richard was later appointed as Special Counsel to the City Attorney. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Law at Loyola Law School, teaching courses in litigation procedure, trial practice skills, negotiation, legal writing, and legal ethics. Richard was a partner with Bronson, Bronson & McKinnon for 10 years, practicing in commercial and business litigation. Earlier in his career he was associated with Mori & Ota and practiced general business litigation.
Professional and Community Organizations:
Richard is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the American Bar Association. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Intellectual Property, Internet and New Technology Section of the BHBA. Richard currently is a member of the Advisory Board for the UCLA Extension, Business, Management and Legal Programs Credit Certificate Program. He is also a member of the Anti-Defamation League of Los Angeles and active participant on its Latino-Jewish Roundtable.
